Window XP
- Right-click “My Computer” or “Computer”, click “properties”.
- Click “Advanced” Tab.
- Click “Environment Variables” Button.
- Find the “PATH” variable and add a semicolon and the path to the DirectX SDK to the end (do not erase what is already in there, it will screw your computer).
- Click “OK” 3 times.
Vista and Windows 7
- Right-click “My Computer” or “Computer”, click “properties”.
- Click “Advanced System Settings” Link.
- If a UAC Prompt requests you permission to continue click “Continue”.
- Click “Environment Variables” Button.
- Find the “PATH” variable and add a semicolon and the path to the DirectX SDK to the end (do not erase what is already in there, it will screw your computer).
- Click “OK” 3 times.
You may need to reboot for the variable to take effect. It is recommended that you do so before you attempt a compile.
